Course Description: This course aims to familiarize students with the importance and understanding of various physiological processes in the human body.

Prerequisites: PHG 111

Objectives of the course :

This course covers the physiological aspects of the respiratory, renal, digestive, and central nervous systems.

Course outputs :

1. Knowledge and understanding:
1.1 Description of the functions of the different respiratory system organs and how they are organized.
1.2 Description of the functions of the different organs of the digestive system and how they are regulated.
1.3 Description of the functions of the different organs of the renal system and how they are regulated.
1.4 Description of the functions of the different parts of the nervous system and how they are organized.

2. Skills:
2.1 Differentiate between the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
2.2 Comparison of the Location and Functions of the Sensory Cortex and Motor Cortex.
2.3 Description of blood flow in the liver and explanation of the importance of the enterohepatic circulation.
3. Values, autonomy and responsibility:
3.1 Assess personal learning and performance, make decisions concerning self-development, and practice reflective and independent thinking to effectively manage and respond to routine or unexpected circumstances.
