Description:
The fashion design program was established in 1429 AH/2008 AD, and is considered one of the programs of the Department of Fashion Design at the College of Arts and Designs, and the program accepts female students according to the study and examination regulations for the university stage and its executive rules at Qassim University, in addition to the decisions issued by the University Council in this regard, and the fashion design program contributes to achieving economic growth in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by developing the business environment and raising the efficiency of female graduates to produce clothing pieces and their accessories at the local and regional level and link them with the requirements of the environment in Saudi society in line with its customs and traditions.

Learning outcomes :
The domain of knowledge and understanding:
G1: Explains in a specialized and in-depth manner the knowledge, theories, principles and concepts involved in the field of apparel and textile design and marketing.
P2: Demonstrates specialized knowledge and understanding based on recent developments in the technical foundations of apparel design and execution.
P3: Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the processes, procedures, materials, techniques, and practices in apparel and textile design and construction through knowledge and understanding of research methodology and investigative techniques.
2- Skills area:
M1: Uses and adapts advanced processes, techniques, tools, instruments, devices, and materials to perform complex and varied practical activities to examine fibers and prepare textile samples with complex practical activities and carry out the necessary tests according to standard specifications.
M2: Select a variety of basic and specialized digital and ICT tools and applications, use and adapt them to process and analyze data and information, and support projects to keep abreast of recent developments in the fields of fashion design.
M3: Employ critical thinking skills and develop creative solutions to issues and problems in complex contexts to analyze the design and implementation stages of apparel according to product quality specifications
M4: Investigative methods are used to investigate complex issues and questions related to the evolution of fashion and textiles through different eras and civilizations, with a focus on the features of Saudi Arabia's traditional clothing heritage.
M5: Employs a range of complex and varied practical tasks and procedures associated with the application of manual methods and digital programs to create garment designs and draw flat patrons with molding and design on mannequins using design elements and fundamentals.
M6: Use technical methods to solve issues in complex and diverse contexts related to the execution and decoration of garments and accessories and apply them during the internship according to the steps of scientific research.
M7: Advanced scientific methods, techniques, tools, devices and materials are used when operating machines and making garments in industry.
M8: Use mathematical operations and quantitative methods to process data and information in complex contexts related to the design and implementation of apparel in complex and diverse contexts.
3- Values, autonomy and responsibility:
S1: Manages tasks and activities related to taking responsibility for handling machinery and equipment in the field of fashion design while demonstrating adherence to professional and human values, standards and ethics in a professional and independent manner.
S2: Collaborate constructively with colleagues and lead diverse teams to perform a range of tasks responsibly and play a key role in planning joint work to develop innovative ideas to solve research and technical issues in fashion design, contributing to the development of the fashion design discipline and society.

To obtain a bachelor's degree in fashion design, you must complete 136 units of study divided into 8 levels of study and divided as follows:
- University Requirements (12 credit hours).
- College Requirements (Compulsory 31 credits - Elective 6 credits).
- Departmental requirements (from within the department mandatory 59 credit hours, optional 14 credit hours, from outside the department 8 credit hours).
- Liberal Courses (6 credits).
