Overview
The Department of Information Technology was established in conjunction with the establishment of the College of Computer Science at Qassim University in the academic year 1426 AH (2005) to cover the needs of various sectors in the Kingdom in this specialization and to prepare the necessary qualifications and expertise. The department aspires to prepare the student to be a specialist in the field of information technology; the curriculum aims to prepare him for the labor market and provide him with the necessary knowledge and expertise in the field of information technology so that the graduate will be able to work in the governmental and private sectors in addition to being able to work in the two sectors: Governmental and private sectors, in addition to being able to work in universities, educational institutions, internet communication companies, and organizations related to this field

Learning Objectives (PEOs):
1. Knowledge
Qualifying the student to be able to solve issues through the knowledge, skills, and high-quality education acquired during his/her study period in the program, which includes basic concepts, principles, and theories in various fields of information technology and scientific research.
2. Professional Achievement
Enable the student to apply knowledge, develop solutions to issues, and implement these solutions efficiently and effectively in various computer applications and systems, within the fields of information technology at the national level.
3. Continuous learning
Preparing graduates to pursue graduate studies in various IT fields and other related fields.
4. Social Responsibility
Properly prepare students, provide them with assistance and guidance, and equip them with the required skills in the field of specialization as effective members of teamwork, while understanding the importance of teamwork and taking personal and societal responsibility.

Enable students to understand the ethical, legal, security, and social issues associated with the field of technology.
