An Overview

The Sustainable Development Center was established after the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prime Minister and President of the Council of Higher Education on 1432/06/04 A.H. Twelve members from inside and outside the university supervise the center. The Sustainable Development Center aims to contribute to enabling the university to achieve its vision, mission and strategic objectives, through direct and indirect supervision of the preparation, implementation, follow-up and evaluation of detailed plans and programs that ensure the university a leading role in identifying and achieving the priorities, goals and requirements of sustainable local development in Qassim region, identifying its competitive advantages, and activating the university's scientific, research, consulting and service capabilities in achieving this.

Providing high-quality research, consulting, training, information and awareness services that contribute to activating and integrating sustainable development efforts in Qassim, achieving its goals, enhancing its competitive advantages, strengthening national and international partnerships, and diversifying the self-financing of developmental events, according to a comprehensive strategic development perspective.

Objectives

1- Participate in defining the goals, priorities and requirements for sustainable local development in the Qassim region, and prepare and formulate its identity, strategic development vision and competitive advantages, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

2- Contributing to the crystallization of development opportunities suitable for the Qassim region, and identifying the requirements and success factors governing their exploitation, according to a strategic perspective, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

3- Activating the university's scientific, research, consulting, training and service capabilities to serve the purposes of sustainable local development in the Qassim region, in particular.
4- Contributing to directing the scientific research carried out at the university to serve the purposes of sustainable local development in the Qassim region in particular.
5- Contributing to strengthening cooperation and partnership relations between all parties related to sustainable local development in the Qassim region, according to a comprehensive strategic development perspective.
6- Organizing and implementing scientific and professional events in the field of sustainable local development according to the highest standards, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
