Affordable and clean energy

About the goal
About the goal :

Goal 7 is about ensuring access to clean and affordable energy, which is essential for the development of agriculture, business, communications, education, healthcare and transportation.
The world continues to make progress towards sustainable energy goals - but not fast enough. By 2030 and at the current pace, about 660 million people will still lack access to electricity, and about 2 billion people will rely on polluting fuels and technologies for cooking.

Our daily lives depend on reliable and affordable energy. However, energy consumption is a major contributor to climate change, accounting for about 60 percent of total global greenhouse gas emissions.

The proportion of the world's population with access to electricity increased from 87 percent in 2015 to 91 percent in 2021. To ensure universal access to affordable electricity by 2030, investments should be made in clean energy sources such as solar, wind and thermal energy. Expanding infrastructure and developing technology to provide clean energy in all developing countries is a critical goal that can encourage growth and help the environment.
