The College of Dentistry launched the activities of the 21st session of the awareness and treatment initiative implemented by the College of Dentistry at the university, where "dental caravans" were conducted to Al-Fawwarah Center for three days, starting on Tuesday, 18/11/1439 AH, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, and the directives of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood.
Dr. Zafer Al-Asmari, Dean of the College of Dentistry, said that the convoy aims to reach the people of all centers and villages in the region, especially the remote ones, to provide all dental services, including fillings, nerve treatment, surgical intervention, and other advanced treatments, stressing that this course targets the residents of Al-Fawara Center and neighboring centers, and provides treatment services to men, women and children, in addition to awareness and educational materials about oral and dental safety and ways to maintain it, and the application of fluoride for the young.
Al-Asmari added" The convoys come with the participation of more than 45 male and female students from the College of Dentistry at the university who volunteered to implement the campaign, and the college assigned them its executive management, in order to instill in them the spirit of leadership, responsibility and love of volunteer work. They are also joined in providing therapeutic services by a distinguished group of volunteer doctors and internship doctors, making this convoy a door for giving and what the university carries on its shoulders in the field of community service, which is one of the main pillars of Qassim University after education and scientific research, and this program includes providing specialized treatment, awareness and educational services, where the convoys are conducted on.
For his part, the head of the convoy, student Abdulrahman Al-Murshid, pointed out that the college assigned the entire tasks of the convoy to students, including administrative, therapeutic and educational work to instill the spirit of leadership, responsibility and love of volunteer work in the hearts of students, stressing that the campaign witnessed a large turnout and remarkable interaction from the residents since its launch in the early morning hours, especially since the work is free and carried out by a group of male and female students, in addition to
