On Monday, 28/8/1439 A.H., the University received the e-Government Achievement Award in its fifth session in the "e-leadership" branch for the entities with the highest improvement in the performance of the seventh e-government transformation measurement. His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, received the award from His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha during a ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the presence of several ministers and e-government officials in government agencies.
For his part, the Minister of Communications praised the development of electronic work at the university and its excellence in this aspect, and praised the performance of some other government agencies, noting that this competition between government agencies has a great impact on the Kingdom's progress in all international and regional forums.
The aim of this annual award is to encourage and motivate government entities to achieve and provide distinguished e-services in an easy way and as a tool to monitor business results to contribute to developing the performance of government entities and highlighting their achievements.
And come The directives of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may Allah protect him, which emphasize the need for all government agencies to shift to e-government transactions, government agencies have started to develop the first policies that ensure the achievement of this great goal through a number of successive stages, as the award clearly indicates that the goal of this award is not to honor in itself, but rather a tool to monitor the results of past work and set appropriate visions for a future in which we expect and hope to achieve a lot, and besides the fact that this award is considered one of the mechanisms of encouragement and motivation for government agencies; it is a way to recognize and reward the efforts made by these agencies in providing better services.
For his part, the award consists of 7 branches, namely: Providing a better service to community members (government - individuals) and Strengthening the national economy (government-business)andCooperation between government agencies to provide better services (Government-to-Government) andE-Community Engagement (Voice of the Beneficiary) andE-services via smart devices, e-contribution by individuals andE-leadership (the best performing organizations in measuring e-government transformation) .
