His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, stressed that the greatest historical event during the fourteenth century of the Hijrah was the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a state founded on the Book of God and the Sunnah of His Prophet, pointing out that this matter was not an easy matter in an environment that was far from God's law, but God's reconciliation to the founding king, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Faisal, made this matter easy by the grace of God, so he, may God have mercy on him, gathered people and united dispersed hearts and dispersed.
This came during his speech during the opening, on Tuesday, 24/7/1439 A.H., of the activities of the conference "Awakening: Studies in the Concept and Problems", organized by the university represented by the Intellectual Awareness Unit and supervised by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, President of the University, and continues for two days with the participation of a group of specialists in the legitimate fields.
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal explained that this blessed country is a country of invitation to God, which has been and will remain, God willing, a country of Islamic invitation, as it allocates great budgets for Islamic invitation and clarifying the truth, stressing that its generous people were born on pure instinct and moderation.
He said: "We must stop to review an important juncture in this hurry, which is to emphasize that the message and approach of this state, which is the call to God, should not be exploited by some to other goals and ambitions that deviate from the basic and divine goal of the call to God, to partisan names and groups that do not lead to the good of the nation and its clear orientations."
His Highness added: "Everyone rejoices and encourages those who count on the call to God and wish people guidance, righteousness and return to God, but we must be sincere in our intention and sound in our belief in the divine call on the methodology of the righteous Salaf and the tolerance and moderation of Islam, as each stage has its own circumstances and priorities, and from a personal point of view, I see that we as Muslims are facing great challenges that require us to awaken and counter those who have tarnished the reputation of Islam with extremism, killing and destruction, and unfortunately, they are among Muslim children who have been deceived.
During his speech at the conference, His Highness called on all Muslim intellectuals to demonstrate the moderation of Islam and the moderation of its approach, without excessive decadence or uncontrolled openness in accordance with the teachings of our true religion or excessive extremism and extremism, pointing out that the Land of the Two Holy Mosques is a reference point to which more than one and a half billion Muslims come for pilgrimage and pilgrimage in safety, security and peace of mind. He stressed that this is the secret of its strength and immunity, and we, God willing, adhere to our tolerant Islamic Sharia, as always emphasized by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Highness the Crown Prince.
His Royal Highness stressed the importance of the role of universities and its centrality in intellectual matters, as they are considered an important and influential incubator, where scientists, professors, thinkers, and male and female students who are fertile ground for knowledge are present. He pointed out that Qassim University is at the forefront of monitoring and liberating ideas through scientific and practical plans and liberating the nation's youth from every deviant thought, renewing the call to download the results and recommendations of this conference to the field and work on it with diligence and effort to serve the religion and the homeland.
For his part, UQU President Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, General Supervisor of the conference, said: "We are at an important and critical stage of history and review that our country is going through, whether on the economic or intellectual level, so this important scientific conference comes to try to draw a map of correct awareness and bad practices, by inviting a group of scientists and researchers from the sons of our dear Kingdom, where through its themes, this concept will be discussed and this confusing term will be liberated.
Al-Dawood emphasized that Awakening is one of the most prominent terms that have been circulated in the past and present in our society, through which many negative connotations were passed, either in employing religiosity towards extremism, or criticizing the correct legitimate practices of religiosity as a manifestation of Awakening, and therefore the need was urgent to address this term through these elites and deal with it in a correct scientific manner, adding that today, under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them - we are more in need of correction and review. We need to correct and review, not to shy away from admitting the existence of mistakes and shortcomings, and to do our best to protect our tolerant Sharia from the currents of exaggeration and extremism that exploit the religious passion of some of our youth by turning them into poisoned daggers that stab at the back of our dear homeland.
Our country is the state of Islam, the fortress of monotheism, the home of the message, and the resting place of Muslims. Our country does not know false slogans, nor does it improve the color and conspiracy as others do, and as for its leaders, they adhere to the rope of God and the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, and no one can argue with their concern for the rites of Islam and their care for them," Al-Dawood added.

For his part, Dr. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Abul Khail, Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit and Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, stressed in his speech before the conference that the task of liberating the future from intellectual terms and clarifying their contents is one of the greatest and most difficult tasks in scientific research, and because the university, with its long-standing research experience and distinguished scientific competencies, thank God Almighty, we in the Intellectual Awareness Unit saw that we would engage in this difficult task, and this conference came to analyze the phenomenon of awakening and discuss this concept that remains active in the collective mind of many youth with all its contents and connotations.
Abu Al-Khail added that many writings in the cultural arena today dealt with this term and perhaps expanded it with insults and satire, and this, for its part, may be a reason for the spread of extremist ideas and the mobilization of crowds to defend them without awareness and insight, and this is what we tried in this conference to overcome and avoid by adhering to the scientific requirement and accuracy in criticism and analysis in order to influence the horrors of this term and analyze its forms in more than 20 scientific papers prepared by scientists and researchers from various universities.

Al-Sheikh pointed out that this country, as history tells, was a theater of strife, wars, plunder and pillage until God blessed its people with the presence of the call of monotheism at the hands of Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab, may God have mercy on him, and the establishment of the rule of God's law at the hands of Imam Muhammad bin Saud, may God have mercy on him, with whom God won the victory of religion and exalted the word of monotheism, and glorified the Sunnah, and raised the banner of the doctrine of the righteous ancestors until this blessed country became and still is, and to God the glory and gratitude, an example in security and stability, indicating that the blessed country follows a moderate approach in calling, education, guidance, education, politics and economy far from the middle path.
