Qassim University's College of Computing Receives Initial International Academic Accreditation from ABET

The College of Computing has officially received from the International Academic Accreditation Authority for Engineering and Technology (IAAET) the positive responses from the ABET evaluation committees for the college's three programs (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Information Technology), including the initial approval (Readiness) of all programs of the College of Computing at Qassim University for international academic accreditation by the authority, This follows a comprehensive review by the Engineering Accreditation Committee (EAC) of the international body () of the self-study report (SSR) for the computer engineering program, and a comprehensive review by the Technical Accreditation Committee (CAC) of the self-study report (SSR) for the computer science program and the information technology program.
Based on this initial approval, on 5/4/1436 AH, corresponding to 28/1/2015 AD, the college officially applied to the International Academic Accreditation Commission (ABET) for final accreditation for its three programs.
The field visit to the college by the international body's team will be scheduled during the first months of 2016, and the final result will be announced in August 2016, God willing.
On this occasion, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Shoushan, extended his sincere congratulations to all the male and female students of the college, and his sincere thanks to His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, and the UQU Vice President for Planning, Development and Quality, Prof. Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, for their unlimited support in achieving this achievement, as well as all the university vice presidents, college deans, faculty members, employees and students who contributed to this achievement with continuous efforts during the past two years, asking Allah to reflect this in the continued development process at the college.
