The university achieved advanced positions in the Times Higher Education International Specialization Ranking 2025 among global universities through 8 academic disciplines at the university, as part of its continuous development efforts to enhance the quality of its academic programs and its international standing.
The university's majors appeared in 8 fields that fall under the Times ranking of majors, achieving advanced ranks, namely: Engineering to 251st globally, Computer Science 301st globally, Medicine and Health 401st, Life Sciences 401st globally, Basic Sciences 501st globally, Education 301st, Social Sciences 501st, and Business and Economics 401st.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are based on 5 main criteria, starting with the educational environment criterion by assessing the reality of education in the university in general and in the academic specialization in particular using several sub-indicators, including its academic reputation, faculty ratio, percentage of graduate students, undergraduate students, and institutional income.
The ranking is also based on the criterion of the university's research environment through indicators of the number of research, research reputation and income generated from the research process, in addition to the criterion of measuring the quality of scientific research and its indicators, including citation rates, strength and excellence of the research output of the university or specialization, as well as the criterion of the international outlook of universities and its indicators: International research partnerships and the number of international students and faculty members in the same specialty, and fifthly, the criterion of excellence in the fields of innovation and income.
It is noteworthy that Qassim University has achieved many achievements in various international rankings, including advancing 200 places in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, achieving 601st place internationally among the best universities in the world.
