His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharekh, President of the University, received the university's honor on the occasion of achieving the highest stage in "creativity" for the third consecutive year, and obtaining the second place in the education and training sector, and the 15th place on the level of government agencies in the Kingdom in the government digital transformation measurement index for 2024, as a result of its alignment with the standards and strategic directions of the digital government, during the Digital Government Forum, in the presence of several ministers, on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
During the forum, the Digital Government Authority announced the results of measuring the Digital Transformation Index 2024 for more than 200 government entities from various sectors, which is concerned with evaluating and diagnosing the status of the entities and following up on the development of their digital transformation journey through several key indicators: The standards derived from royal orders, cabinet decisions and circulars, which included 52 standards, and the digital transformation standards consisting of 73 standards, which measure the extent of government agencies' commitment to applying these standards and the levels of commitment to their implementation, where the results of measuring these indicators are sorted into 5 stages (innovation, integration, optimization, availability, and construction).
For the third year in a row, Qassim University came in the top stage of "Creativity", among the top 15 government entities, and ranked second in the education and training sector with a measurement score (92.53%), reflecting the level of efforts made in developing the digital transformation system and digital infrastructure and employing it to serve the university's mission, goals, and various programs.
The university was honored during the Digital Government Forum in Riyadh, in the presence of His Excellency the Vice President for Business Development and Community Partnership, Dr. Majid bin Fadhi Al-Enezi, and His Excellency the Dean of E-Learning and Information Technology, Prof. Saleh bin Mohammed Al-Bahli.
The index aims to raise the levels of compliance of government agencies with orders and decisions, achieve the requirements of digital transformation through the optimal application of basic standards, improve the performance and effectiveness of government agencies, improve the quality of services provided to beneficiaries, contribute to the Kingdom's progress in international indicators, and develop digital government.
