The Vice President of Qassim University for Educational Affairs, Prof. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Tami, praised the initiative of the College of Economics and Administration at the university to launch the first alumni forum, which was held last Thursday in the lobby of the college amid the presence of dozens of graduates of the college over the past 33 years, which represents the age of the college.
Dr. Al-Tami stressed that this initiative would build bridges of communication with graduates and their employers, activate the link and partnership between the college and its graduates and their employers, activate the role of graduates in developing the college's programs and engage them in improving the level of skills provided to students, open new horizons for opportunities and areas of cooperation for the continuous improvement of the college, inform graduates of the scientific developments reached by the college from conferences, seminars, scientific journals and others, in addition to activating the role of graduates in building policies and strategic objectives of the college.
The forum included a speech program that included a speech by the Dean of the College, Dr. Obaid Al-Mutairi, who stressed that the college refuses to be a traditional college and always pushes for positive change in all fields, reviewing the history, stages and development of the college and noting that the forum comes with the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the college, which graduated about 4300 graduates, and obtained the initial international academic accreditation from AACSB Business Schools Accreditation Commission.
Dr. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Tuwaijri delivered the graduates' speech in which he praised the college's initiative to build bridges of communication with its graduates by activating the partnership with them and their employers in order to activate the role of the graduate to contribute to the development of the college, wishing the college and the university in general more progress and success.
The forum also reviewed the stages of the college's development and held several workshops through which the college sought to come up with recommendations and ideas to achieve the goal of organizing this forum.
Ms. Hind bin Sulaiman Al-Hamza, Director of the first Alumni Forum and Head of the Conference Committee at the College of Economics and Administration, pointed out that the Alumni Forum represents the link between the graduate and the college, as it is the scientific stronghold from which they launched for practical life. The college aspires to strengthen these ties between it and its graduates through channels that will be developed, the most important of which is the establishment of the Alumni Council, which will be launched soon, as well as opening the way for graduates to participate in college activities while we will not spare them by providing them with new information in their academic fields, hoping that this forum will continue for years to come to bear fruit and achieve its results, God willing.
Ms. Hind Al-Hamza pointed out that the forum concluded with a number of recommendations, including the establishment of the Alumni Association "Advisory Council", in addition to activating relations with graduates and transforming them from informal to formal, and the contribution of the graduate in community development with his continuous positive and productive character, launching the initiative to provide career guidance courses from college graduates who hold important positions in the community and working to continue organizing and holding this forum annually while checking its achievement of the objectives and strategy.
The forum also included a review of a number of success stories of female graduates of the college, starting with Saba Al-Arini, Regional Manager of Al Rajhi Bank and a graduate of the college years ago, who praised the forum and the achievements it will achieve and the close relationship between the graduate and her college, as well as the recommendations and survey results that will benefit the female students and the college alike.
Noura Al-Mardasi, Director of the Women's Civil Service in Qassim and one of the college's graduates, noted the positive role of the college in pushing her towards working life, stressing the importance of communicating with the university to learn about the scientific developments that follow all different specializations, in addition to the importance of activating the role of graduates to contribute to developing the college and serving the community with supportive studies and ideas.
Reem Al-Jameeh, Assistant for Financial and Administrative Affairs at Qassim Education, thanked the current and former members of the educational body and addressed in her speech to the female graduates who have not been employed and who have career aspirations, "Whoever says that there are no jobs or that jobs are difficult or difficult to obtain is not true." Through her experience in the field of work, the female graduate and employee also need only two points, the first of which is the sincere intention to work and sincerity, and the second must prepare oneself for the job and work in various aspects, even voluntary work, so the person should not stop at a certain limit.
Graduate Asmaa Al-Azzaz, an employee in one of the government sectors, pointed out that through the graduation in the government job, she was able to achieve her professional success until she reached the head of a department where she is always looking to enhance her professional role in addition to her social role that she provided to the community through her practical experience in the voluntary field in which she found benefit and blessing, and called on female graduates and students to communicate with charitable associations and work in the voluntary fields available in their community to obtain successful social relations and sufficient professional experience.
The Director of the Control and Investigation Authority in the Qassim region, one of the graduates of the college, also expressed her sincere thanks to a number of female faculty members who are beautiful examples of the meanings of giving and the university has meant to her the family and community habitat that has had a great impact on the professionalism of her current work, which she reached only thanks to God and then perseverance and diligent attempt to succeed and honest work.
Reem Al-Fahad, Director of Arab National Bank, expressed her thanks for the spatial presence and recalled the memory of graduation, which was the beginning of the launch towards work and the banking profession from customer service and transfers to a number of banks and managing two branches until she obtained a certified trainer certificate, which is another approach to develop the person for himself and his skills and not to be satisfied with his practical professionalism.
Graduate Mona Al-Harbi, a financial officer at the Ministry of Education, spoke about her happiness at the invitation extended to her and her fellow graduates to express her success in her professional field and her successful experience as a member of the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled.
Alumna Fatima Al-Walayi, trainer of the Intellectual Energy Center in Qassim, also thanked the college for the hosting and invitation to return and recount the professional success that we received thanks to God and then thanks to the good example of the professors at the college and did not skimp on giving the attendees a quick training dose to revitalize the mind and body.
At the conclusion of the forum, the college, represented by Professor Hind Al-Hamza, head of the committee and director of the first forum for graduates, honored a number of vice deans of the college, the dean of the center and distinguished graduates by presenting professional experiences and thanked the organizing team for their excellence and creativity.
