On Monday and Tuesday, 18-19/2/1442 A.H., the University, represented by the College of Education, will celebrate the World Teacher's Day under the slogan "Teachers: Leadership in Crises Reimagining the Future", under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, and with the participation of a number of education directors in the region and teachers.
The College of Education also aims to motivate teachers to perform their mission with high professionalism, in addition to seeking to highlight the role and status of teachers, contribute to honoring them and enhance their feelings of professionalism, through a set of activities and programs in community partnership with the entities related to teachers.
This year's Teacher's Day activities include an open meeting with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for General Education, Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al-Mustaqbal, a meeting entitled "The Role of the Education Administration in Empowering Teacher Leadership," presented by the Director General of Qassim Education, Mr. Muhammad Al-Furaih, and a seminar entitled "Teachers and Educational Alternatives in Crises," with the participation of Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Baltan, faculty member at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Ajlan, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mona bint Saleh Al-Wazzan, Head of the Kindergarten Department, under the leadership of Mr. Ahmad bin Muhammad Al-Tuwaijri, Head of the Department of Curriculum.
The college offers a set of lectures and workshops for teachers on this occasion, including communication skills with students and influencing them, presented by Dr. Hamad bin Saleh Al-Ghunaim, a faculty member at the Department of Educational Technologies; remote teaching skills for art education teachers: teaching clay formation as a model, presented by Rawan bint Mohammed Al-Ghafili, a lecturer at the Department of Art Education; a lecture on the role of the teacher in psychological reassurance in times of crisis, presented by Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Khalaf, Head of the Department of Psychology; and phenomenology-based learning, presented by Dr. Sami bin Fahad Al-Sunaidi, a faculty member at the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Methods
For his part, the Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Khalid Al-Humaidi, explained that the activation of Teacher's Day aims to raise the status of the teacher's profession, which carries a high-status message that enjoys the attention of all, because of its great impact on the present and future of the nation, and to highlight the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in developing education through a vision and an ambitious future strategic plan, Vision 2030, by adopting a comprehensive development project for education, introducing the teacher's profession and the importance of the role he plays in building society and its future, and spreading the culture of honoring and celebrating the teacher, who is appreciated, respected, and trusted by society.
Al-Humaidi added that the celebration will also deal with ways to raise the teacher's morale to perform his mission professionally and to the fullest, enhance communication with the teacher and his responsible authorities before and during his service, including colleges of education and education departments, to enrich the professional aspect of the teacher through various activities and programs, exchange experiences among teachers, review successful and distinguished educational experiences in the educational field, and honor a group of distinguished teachers in the educational field who are on the job or retired.
