The University, represented by the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies, hosted the fourth consultative meeting of the heads of history departments in Saudi universities, which was held on Thursday morning, 3/7/1441 AH, at the headquarters of the University City, with the participation of a number of heads of history departments in Saudi universities, with the aim of discussing the development of history departments' programs and the quality of their outputs and activating them in line with the development and modernization of the country in accordance with Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program.
The meeting, which was chaired by Dr. Ali Al-Nughaimshi, Head of the Department of History at the university, is part of a series of consultative meetings for history departments concerned with the development of this discipline. The participants discussed a number of issues related to history departments, including the development of plans and programs and areas of cooperation between departments in the field of postgraduate studies and joint supervision of scientific theses.
For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Lahim, Dean of the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies, stressed that this meeting comes within the framework of stimulating education to create an ideal learning environment in accordance with the Kingdom's vision, noting that the aspect of care and attention to national history represents one of the aspects of strengthening national identity, and he thanked the participants for the initiatives they presented aimed at developing and raising the efficiency of history departments.
