Methods of Contemporary Fundamentalist Issues

Course Description: The course includes the rules of understanding Islamic texts, the flaws in inferring from Islamic legal principles, contemporary doubts about the principles of inference, ijtihad (independent legal reasoning) and fatwas (religious rulings), following dispensations, and adopting minority opinions.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

The student will learn contemporary issues in Usul al-Fiqh and their origins, and will understand the rules of interpreting legal texts, the principles of legal reasoning, the guidelines for issuing fatwas, and the pitfalls of fatwas in the current era.
