Course Description: - Identify the most prominent trends in modern Western philosophical thought. - Understand the factors that led to the emergence of these contemporary philosophies and their relationship to preceding ones. - Critically study some contemporary Western philosophies from an Islamic perspective. - Acquire the tools of analysis and criticism that enable the student to understand these trends critically. - Recognize the impact of these philosophical doctrines on the intellectual landscape of the Islamic world.

Objectives of the course :

Study the most important contemporary trends in philosophical thought that influence contemporary thought, and academically qualify the student to deal with this philosophy in study, impact, and critique according to the Islamic reference.
