Description:
The College of Nursing at Qassim University was established in the academic year 2009/2010. It is the first nursing college in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to adopt a problem-based learning approach, emphasizing the importance of integrating the disciplines of basic sciences and humanities with nursing sciences.

Learning outcomes :
The domain of knowledge and understanding:
1- Explain the knowledge of biological, psychological and social sciences in the context of nursing and apply this knowledge in a way that meets the needs of the labor market.
2- Distinguish between contemporary evidence-based nursing practices including nursing models, caring for individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations across the lifespan and across the health disease continuum.
3- Formulate a specific nursing care plan to meet the needs/issues taking into account the time frame, workload and available resources in the context of comprehensive care in a creative manner and in line with professional ethics and professionalism.
4- Identify the basic principles of research science to optimize patient/client care by providing quality nursing care in various health care settings.
Skill area:
1- Demonstrate the competence of nursing graduates in a wide range of clinical skills with integrity and professional ethics.
2- Applying infection control and safety measures in all clinical procedures related to specialization, profession and professionalism.
3- Applying updated standards, protocols, and guidelines in providing nursing care.
4- Applying digital coding to the nursing care plan and documenting patient care.
Values, autonomy and responsibility:
1- Developing problem-solving skills through effective teamwork and participation in ongoing educational activities related to professional issues, decision-making, and commitment to responsible citizenship.
2- Communicate clearly with the professional, social and therapeutic context in line with Islamic values and beliefs.

Tracks :
A unified program that qualifies the student to obtain a bachelor's degree in nursing, which includes 3 academic years of study, followed by an internship year in which the acquired knowledge and skills are applied in the clinical work environment.
Career opportunities:
Due to the need of the health sector in the Kingdom to increase the number of Saudi nurses, all graduates of the program are expected to be absorbed in various governmental and private health sectors.
