Department of Psychiatric, Mental and Community Health

A modern laboratory is equipped with high standards for nursing education, as it includes white work units with precise organization, and black mobile chairs equipped with wheels to facilitate movement. The laboratory contains drawers and partitions between stations, under bright ceiling lighting that ensures visibility, and the laboratory is characterized by complete cleanliness and order, and there are windows on the far side that allow medical light to enter, in addition to a closed door located on the right side of the place.

An Overview

The Department of Psychiatric, Mental and Community Health Nursing is one of the important academic pillars of the college, which is concerned with preparing qualified nursing cadres who possess the skills and knowledge necessary to provide comprehensive and integrated care targeting individuals, families and communities, with a focus on psychological, social and preventive aspects. The department provides an educational and training environment that enables students to apply the three levels of prevention: Primary prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, thereby enhancing the quality of life and public health. It also contributes to raising community health awareness and enhancing effective partnerships between the college and the local community, in support of a comprehensive vision to improve mental health and community health.

Objectives :

1- Providing outstanding education in the field of community health nursing, achieving the highest quality standards.
2- Expanding the scope of practical training for the department's students in a variety of environments.
3- Enhancing the role of the department in community service and applied research to meet its health needs.
4- Raising the level of performance of female students in order to achieve the satisfaction of the beneficiaries of individuals, families and communities.
5- Building strong relationships with health service organizations locally and internationally.
6- Contribute to improving health behaviors and attitudes in the community.
