Within the framework of strengthening scientific and research partnerships, Qassim University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) on Monday. The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharekh, President of Qassim University, and Prof. Edward Byrne, President of KAUST.
The memorandum aims to develop the research environment, support innovation and entrepreneurship, exchange expertise between the two universities, develop joint academic programs, and benefit from advanced research resources, in order to enhance the Kingdom's position as a global center of scientific and technological excellence.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Waleed Al-Battah, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Qassim University, Prof. Omar Kenyo, Vice President for Educational and Academic Affairs at KAUST, and Prof. Arwa Al-Amey, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at KAUST.
The memorandum of understanding included several areas of cooperation, most notably: Utilizing advanced research and information resources, enhancing cooperation in the field of scientific research, training and development, and scientific exchange of faculty members, which contributes to enriching research production and achieving effective integration between the two academic institutions.

The agreement aims to enable Qassim University students to participate in a recognized research training program in an advanced academic environment, which will enhance their scientific and cognitive development within their disciplines.
