His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Qassim, married the third batch of graduates of the educational program of Qassim University in Buraydah city prison, after he sponsored their beautiful wedding on Monday evening, 13/6/1435 AH, in which tears of joy were mixed for the prison inmates and their parents in historic moments that confirm that the Kingdom's prisons are reformatories to correct behavior.
With the father's great happiness and the official's sense of responsibility, His Highness announced his donation of 100,000 riyals to support the march of the exemplary wing of the prison, which is a pioneering model in the Kingdom's prisons.
After the graduates' march, His Highness improvised a speech in the tones of a happy father who overcomes tears of joy in happiness for the excellence of these inmates and the rise of their aspirations and their proper orientation towards the path of rectitude, God willing. His Highness stressed that the Kingdom's prisons were not established for torture, oppression or humiliation, but were established by the leadership as incubators for reform, behavioral correction and reparation, stressing that human rights are derived from this great religion that guarantees the Muslim his rights and duties, noting that Qassim University is a leading experience in this field, pointing out that this experience deserves recognition, support and commendation.
His Highness said: We have come today to congratulate you, appreciate you, respect your effort and work, and congratulate you on this effort and tender that you have given and obtained your degree from the university. His Highness stressed that government agencies and community organizations work to serve, care for and rehabilitate prisoners to be a good building block and active members of their society, congratulating the graduates on the successes they have achieved, and extending his thanks to the region's Prisons Department for its constructive, exemplary and distinguished work through the ideal ward in Buraydah Prison.
Following his patronage of the graduation ceremony of Qassim University for the third batch of 16 inmates of Buraydah Prison, who received diplomas from Buraydah Community College in human resources and computer specialties, in the hall of the ideal wing in Buraydah Prison, His Highness announced his donation of 100 thousand riyals to support the programs and activities of the ideal wing. During the ceremony, the graduates expressed their thanks to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - may Allah protect him - for realizing their desire to continue their studies inside prisons, stressing that they have received attention, guidance and support inside the prison in all fields.
The Director of the Prisons Department in Qassim, Major General Saleh Al-Qarzai, emphasized that their goal is to rehabilitate the inmate and prepare all means aimed at his treatment,These are the same goals that our wise government has made it a priority to achieve the difficult equation of removing the inmate to become a building block and reform in society. He added that the regular general, technical, vocational and university education program that we are proud of in Qassim prisons as the first prison administration in the Kingdom in which this education is opened With the sincere efforts of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, and his loyal men from the vice presidents and deans of colleges, with the support and encouragement of His Highness the Emir of the region and his deputy, and with the continuous follow-up of the General Directorate of Prisons in the Kingdom, evidence of the diligent endeavor to invest and build the human being because the product of the nation,He stressed that the work is serious and continuous with Qassim University to hold a partnership to provide educational courses for inmates aimed at modifying their behavior towards positivity, and Al-Qarzai announced the issuance of the executive regulations of the Council of Ministers decision to pardon up to 15% of the sentence in the public right for those enrolled in the education or vocational training program according to the specified conditions, congratulating the graduating students and their parents on this occasion and extending thanks to Qassim University and success partners with Trahim Committee and Charitable Warehouse for their efforts, and praised His Highness the Emir of the region for his sponsorship of this ceremony and said: "This patronage leaves an impact, achieves a goal, wipes away tears, opens horizons, deters haters and responds to envious people.
For his part, the Dean of Buraydah Community College, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Samani, said: "It is not easy to turn a dream into reality and hope into reality after a year in which we moved from hope to ambition and diligent work, so the path became clear and we walked at a steady pace." He continued: "The duty of the community college towards the Saudi society is to interact with it and the education of these inmates contributes greatly to eliminating ignorance, which is considered one of the motivating factors to commit abnormal behavior and on the other hand leads to a change in ways of thinking and criteria for judging people. He added that we look forward to this college, which we hope to see this place with an integrated university environment as we dream of building buildings and halls, and with your support, the ambition will be achieved, pointing out that this is the third batch of prison inmates in the computer science and human resources programs, extending his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Emir of the region for his patronage and honor of this ceremony, He also thanked his fellow faculty members and administrators for the efforts they exerted and praised the role of the Director of Prisons and all his employees for their fruitful cooperation in order to make the educational process successful.
After that, His Excellency the President of Qassim University, Prof. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, delivered a speech on this occasion, through which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Emir of Qassim Region for his continuous patronage of the activities and programs of the university, and congratulated the graduating students and their parents on their success in their educational career, praying to Allah Almighty to be a motivation for them to play their desired role towards their families, society and country to be active members when their sentence is over. Then the ceremony proceeded, where everyone watched a visual presentation of the stages of study received by the inmates' graduates inside the prison, and reviewed the march of the graduates, then His Highness honored the graduating students, sponsors and supporters of this celebration, and took memorial photos,
His Highness also inaugurated the Ideal Wing Academy at Buraidah Prison, where he viewed the accompanying exhibition, which includes handicrafts of male and female inmates, and some photos depicting their participation in various cultural, sports and social courses .
