His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, visited Qassim University yesterday, Saturday, September 19, 2026, and met with His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharkh, in the presence of the Vice President for Financial and Technical Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Saoui, the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahd bin Suleiman Al-Ahmad, the Vice President for Business Development and Community Partnership, Dr. Majid bin Fadhi Al-Enezi, and the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Waleed bin Saleh Al-Battah, at the main campus of the university city.
The university president welcomed His Excellency the Minister of Education, emphasizing that this visit reflects the ministry's interest in universities and its continuous support for their educational, academic, and research endeavors. He noted that this visit is an extension of the support provided to the education sector by the wise leadership\u2014may God support them\u2014contributing to enhancing the role of universities in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, developing the higher education system, and improving its outcomes.<\/p>
His Excellency the Minister of Education was briefed on an overview of the university's key enablers, projects, and initiatives, as well as its local and international achievements in educational, research, innovation, and digital fields. This is in addition to its efforts in developing its academic environment, fostering partnerships, and employing modern technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance the educational process, thereby supporting the university's objectives and future directions.<\/p>
He also met with the QSpark project team, praising their efforts after the project achieved first place globally in the e-learning category at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes 2026, organized by the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva, following its qualification among the top five global projects out of 90 projects in the final stage.<\/p>
The project is a smart educational platform developed by Qassim University, which relies on artificial intelligence technologies to provide a personalized and adaptive learning experience for students. It features a unified dashboard that combines academic analytics and educational support, along with the ability to predict students at risk of falling behind and provide appropriate remedial plans. It employs predictive analytics and gamification techniques to enhance engagement and improve academic performance, and it integrates with various university systems to deliver a comprehensive digital experience that contributes to the development of higher education and supports the digital transformation journey.<\/p><\/p>
