The university, represented by the College of Arts and Design, is organizing the conference \u00abHandicrafts in the Era of Digital Transformation: Opportunities and Challenges\u00bb on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 23-24, 2025 AD. The conference is under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharikh, and will be held at the King Abdulaziz Conference Center at the university city, coinciding with the Year of Handicrafts 2025 AD.
The conference program includes a series of scientific sessions that discuss multiple themes, most notably: handicrafts and artificial intelligence, utilizing modern technology to enhance production and quality, developing small and medium-sized enterprises for sustainable development, digital marketing for handicrafts, and the role of business incubators in supporting artisans. The conference also includes a set of applied workshops focusing on handicraft skills and preserving these professions in light of digital transformation.<\/p>
The accompanying exhibition includes the participation of a number of bodies, institutions, civil associations, and specialized companies, in addition to the College of Arts and Design pavilion. It highlights the efforts of these entities in supporting handicrafts and the services and initiatives they offer aimed at promoting and preserving this sector.<\/p>
The two-day conference aims to highlight the importance of handicrafts by shedding light on their cultural and economic value and their role in preserving national identity. It will also explore the challenges and opportunities associated with digital transformation and present innovative insights for developing this vital sector through the use of modern technologies, contributing to increased productivity, enhanced competitiveness, and ensuring its sustainability.<\/p><\/p>
