{"id":16441,"date":"2013-03-11T02:22:22","date_gmt":"2013-03-10T23:22:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.qu.edu.sa\/blog\/uncategorized\/d_news-74\/"},"modified":"2013-03-11T02:22:22","modified_gmt":"2013-03-10T23:22:22","slug":"d_news-74","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.qu.edu.sa\/en\/d_news\/74\/","title":{"rendered":"Prince Faisal bin Meshal: The Center for Sustainable Development is a solid bridge to serve the community developmentally"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz presided \u2013<br>\nDeputy Governor of Qassim Region \u2013 Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Center for Sustainable Development at the University<br>\nQassim, the first meeting of the council took place yesterday, Monday afternoon, at the university's main headquarters.<br>\nAnd it has<br>\nHe praised in a press statement the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to establish this center, which<br>\nIt is the first of its kind at the level of Saudi universities as a civilizational nucleus looking forward to horizons<br>\nThe future.<br>\nHis Highness described the center as a solid bridge that works for the developmental service of the community.<br>\nAnd it is considered a precedent for Qassim University, which is taking tangible steps in the field of contributing to development<br>\nSustainable .<br>\nAnd His Highness affirmed that he is happy to participate in the launch of this center, noting that they<br>\nDuring their meeting, they agreed on the center's vision, mission, and goals after adding a number of priorities.<br>\nimportant with the aim of expanding the horizons of this center in supporting the development process of the Qassim region, clarifying that they<br>\nThey will initially work on raising awareness about what sustainable development is and its importance in forecasting<br>\nThe developmental future through field scientific studies and research concerned with important aspects of progress<br>\nin the community, in the region, and in the Kingdom in general.<br>\nHis Highness praised the role of His Excellency the University President<br>\nProfessor Dr. Khaled Al-Hamoudi, Center Director Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Harbi, and team leader<br>\nThe strategic plan at the university, Dr. Abdullah Al-Buraidi, and their success in creating a professional formula<br>\nFor the center.<br>\nHis Highness expressed their determination to focus on organizing an international symposium to introduce the concept<br>\nSustainable development, starting next academic year, will involve a selection of experts.<br>\nAnd global and national specialists, and it will have a role, God willing, in spreading a culture of awareness.<br>\nWithin the concept of sustainable development, emphasizing that the center will open communication channels with research centers<br>\nScientific and distinguished research centers to create a joint research environment will result, God willing<br>\nStudies that are useful in various development fields.<br>\nThe first meeting witnessed<br>\nA word from His Excellency Dr. Khaled Al-Hamoudi, in which he reviewed the idea of this center, its importance, and its role<br>\nIt is hoped that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques will approve its establishment and appreciate His Highness's approval.<br>\nTo chair the advisory council, which includes members from within and outside the university, a goal in<br>\nTo make actual contributions with research and studies that advance sustainable development to broader horizons, God willing.<br>\nGod.<br>\nLikewise, the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr.<br>\nAbdulrahman Al-Wasel, the center's vision for the first sustainable development seminar, referring to it as<br>\nThe aim is to introduce the dimensions, components, requirements, and challenges of sustainable development, while attracting<br>\nSpotlight on prominent paths and initiatives in sustainable development in contexts<br>\nNational and international, in a way that enables us in the Qassim region to crystallize a solid foundation for analytical understanding<br>\nIntegrative Platform for Sustainable Development and Strategic Direction Extraction<br>\nAnd lessons learned with an introduction to King Saud University's strategic framework in the field of development<br>\nSustainable localization; considering all of this as a pivotal pillar for any future practical work, and enabling<br>\nThe university, represented by the Center for Sustainable Development, and other institutions concerned with development<br>\nSustainable in the region through building networks of relationships, cooperation, and partnerships with experts and institutions<br>\nA pioneer in the field.<br>\nAs the Director of the Sustainable Development Center, Dr. Abdulaziz presented<br>\nThe Harbi glimpsed sustainable development worldwide, explaining that it emerged in the late century<br>\nThe twentieth and began with the United Nations conference held in Sweden in 1972 under the name of the conference<br>\nThe United Nations on Environment and Humanity, then he confirmed in the third United Nations conference which<br>\nThe United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, held in South Africa in 2002<br>\non the condition that economic and social development should not destroy the environment, and that the needs of<br>\nThe present must not compromise the environment's ability to meet future needs, indicating that<br>\nSustainable development means meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.<br>\nThe future, where economic, social, and environmental dimensions are considered as a new and important outcome<br>\nfor the development crisis in both developed and developing countries alike, emphasizing<br>\nThe role of the Sustainable Development Center will be to study the development environment in the Qassim region.<br>\nTo determine development requirements and priorities, which will help identify a clear development vision for the region.,<br>\nBy identifying the region's competitive advantages and then enabling them to crystallize development projects<br>\nHuge, with support from high government officials.<br>\nDr. Abdullah reviewed in<br>\nThe center's vision, mission, and goals as a leading national think tank for local development<br>\nSustainable, meaning offering superior research, consultation, training, information, and awareness services<br>\nQuality contributes to the activation and integration of sustainable development efforts in Qassim and the achievement of its goals.<br>\nAnd enhance its competitive advantages, consolidate national and international partnerships, and diversify self-financing<br>\nFor development events;
