The university, represented by the College of Pharmacy, is organizing the First International Conference on Community Pharmacy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the title (Creating a Value-Based Culture). The conference is sponsored by His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region. It will be held at the King Khalid Cultural Center in the city of Buraidah, on Tuesday, corresponding to 27\/5\/1439 AH, and will last for three days with the participation of a select group of experts in the field of community pharmacy from all over the world. <\/p>
Dr. Mansour Al-Shareeda, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, affirmed that this conference is a continuation of the university's approach towards innovation and excellence, and a completion of the college's journey in supporting and encouraging scientific communication ties between specialists in the field of pharmacy and activating the benefit from its outcomes. He pointed out that the college offers advanced study programs in various fields of pharmaceutical sciences to prepare graduates who are competitive and meet the needs of the labor market, and highly qualified researchers to conduct distinguished scientific research for the benefit of society.<\/p>
Al-Sharida explained that the tremendous development in the pharmacy profession and its sciences aims to provide optimal pharmaceutical care to beneficiaries in accordance with the latest scientific and professional developments, which are among the most important priorities of healthcare worldwide. He pointed out that the scientific program for the conference has been accredited with 28 hours of continuing medical education by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. <\/p>
Al-Sharida added that this scientific conference is considered the first of its kind in the field of community pharmacy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that it aims to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the practice of Saudi pharmacists in community pharmacies within the National Health Transformation programs, and to review many important themes and topics. It focuses on the role of community pharmacy in the Kingdom in optimal practice to ensure control over the dispensing and use of medicines, and the conference seeks to create a professional culture based on values in community pharmacies.<\/p>
\"Al-Sharida\" pointed out the university's keenness, represented by the College of Pharmacy and with direct support and constant follow-up from His Excellency the University President, to attract many recruitment companies to this conference to help pharmacists and college graduates directly review job offers that suit their needs. This is in line with the university's strategy of direct communication between it and its graduates. The conference is accompanied by an exhibition showcasing the presented scientific research, with over 203 scientific papers accepted, and 75 of them have been accepted. In addition to organizing an accompanying exhibition, with the participation of many entities related to the field of medicines and pharmacy and international pharmaceutical companies.<\/p>
Among the prominent names that will participate in the conference are Dr. Matthew Osterhaus, Professor at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in the United States, and American Matthew Mogan, President of the Dartmouth Center for Medical Research, and Sandra Leil, Chief Operating Officer of Clinical Pharmacy Services at SymphonyRx pharmacies, in addition to Scot Harry McQuillan, Professor at the University of Strathclyde and Dr. Randy McDonough, Professor at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in the United States.<\/p>
A number of specialists in this field from within the Kingdom will also participate, including: Professor Dr. Ayman Assaad Abdo, Secretary-General of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghasham, Vice President of Qassim University for Development, Planning, and Quality, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Sarai, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hussan, Dr. Khalid Al-Jaali, Dr. Aws Al-Shamsan, Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Bukairi, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Juffali, Dr. Hussein Al-Omr, Dr. Ahmed Al-Jadaie, Dr. Abdullah Al-Musnid, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shanawe, Dr. Abdulqader Al-Muain, Dr. Ahmed Bahazeq, Dr. Murad Al-Sakkaff, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Quwayzani.<\/p><\/p>
