The Permanent Team for the Rehabilitation and Development of Wadi Al-Rummah organized a scientific exploratory trip to the valley on Sunday, 27\/8\/1439 AH. This trip is part of the plan to rehabilitate and develop Wadi Al-Rummah, aligning with the team's tasks under the guidance and support of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud, and in cooperation with the university. The scientific trip was well-prepared and organized to ensure the achievement of its set objectives.
\nThe trip, which departed from Prince Nayef Airport in Qassim, included two routes, one to the estuary and the other to the headwaters. During these routes, the wadi's course was monitored and its flow limits were identified. The team also surveyed the discharge points of sewage into the wadi. Furthermore, the team documented all forms of encroachment on the wadi, including residential and agricultural encroachment, as well as soil excavation. The team is working on all measures that would ensure the sustainability of the wadi and its environment in this part of the Qassim region.
\nUniversity representatives, based on their previous scientific studies, confirmed that the valley in the vicinity of Thuwairat Sand Sea is interspersed with ancient lake beds that show no trace of a valley channel, while their evaporite and calcareous deposits are clearly visible. Valley deposits are rarely seen in Thuwairat Sand Sea except on the western fringes.
\nThe team members also confirmed that the Rammah Valley watershed sector, based on geological maps and structural data, comprises areas with igneous and metamorphic rocks. Their structural characteristics confirm the presence of economically exploitable minerals. The team emphasized that no mining or investment activity should affect the wadi paths, and no investment should occur within the channels of these wadis, which would impede the flow of floods.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
