He plants the first seedlings of \"Plant it\""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, sponsored today, Monday 16\/03\/1442 AH, the launch of the university's participation in the \u201cQassim is Green\u201d campaign, launched by His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region. The campaign will last for 30 days, with the university participating in its sixth phase for the sixth consecutive time.<p><span style=\"-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;\">The university president also launched the \u201cPlant It\u201d initiative, which the university is launching on Twitter today and will continue for 30 days. His Excellency planted the first saplings of the campaign and thanked the Deanship of Student Affairs and relevant participating entities, saying, \u201cGod willing, we will see the university city as a green land.\u201d This was in the presence of the University Vice President, Dr. Mohammed Al-Sawe, and the Vice President for Planning, Development, and Quality, Professor Dr. Khalid Al-Harbi, at the main entrance of the university city.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;\">Following the launch of the university's participation, \u201cAl-Dawood\u201d opened the exhibition accompanying the campaign, which is organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, in cooperation with the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, and the General Administration of Services and Maintenance. The exhibition contains 10 sections, starting with a section on the stages of implementing the campaign, which aims to plant 100,000 seedlings to afforest the main campus in Al-Malaida, the student housing, the scout camp, and public and wilderness areas in the region, in addition to afforesting the southern branch and its affiliated colleges, and afforesting the western branch and its affiliated colleges.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;\">The exhibition features several sections from the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, including: a section on soil types, a section on tree and plant species, a hydroponics section, a section on tree health care, a section on modern irrigation methods, a section on proper seedling planting techniques, a health section, and a special section on deforestation and its environmental impact.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;\">For its part, the university's General Administration of Services reviewed future afforestation projects through a plan to plant 1,000 palm trees, plant 4,000 shade trees, and rehabilitate and plant housing for faculty members with more than 5,000 trees, palm trees, shade trees, and flowering shrubs, in addition to planting 1,000 shade trees and 800 Washingtonia palm trees.
