Over two days, the conference witnessed six scientific sessions and two workshops, with the participation of a number of researchers, experts, and specialists in the field of fashion design and related fields from several countries, including Portugal, Romania, Egypt, and Iraq, in addition to Saudi Arabia. During these sessions, a number of recent research and scientific papers were discussed, opening new horizons for those interested in and working in the field of fashion design. &nbsp;&nbsp;<p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>Three scientific sessions were held on the first day of the conference. The first session was chaired by Dr. Majida Abdullah Al-Aayed, Dean of the College of Science and Arts in Al-Nabhaniyah at Qassim University, under the title \u201cEntrepreneurship and Sustainable Development in the Fashion Industry.\u201d Dr. Isabel Maria Cantisa and Dr. Lavinia Pan participated, discussing the latest developments in the world of fashion design, its viability for entrepreneurs interested in investing in the fashion industry, and the future of this promising field due to its continuous development and the increasing demand for new and innovative designs from consumers.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>The second session, titled \u201cFashion Design and Community Service,\u201d was then held. It was chaired by Dr. Khadija Rozi Gari Qashqari, Professor of Textiles and Applications at the College of Design and Arts, King Abdulaziz University. Dr. Sara Gharm Allah Al-Zahrani participated with a research paper on \u201cVirtual Community Users\u201d Awareness of Online Fashion Shopping in Saudi Arabia.\u201c Dr. Khayra Awad Al-Zahrani presented a study titled \u201cA Study of the \u201dSirma\u201d Embroidery Style of the Kaaba Cover and its Utilization in the Execution of Tourist Souvenirs.\u201c Dr. Huda Abdulaziz Al-Moqrin, Ms. Hind Mohammed Al-Sulan, and Ms. Shihana Mohammed Al-Dosari presented research titled \u201dDesigning an Electronic Platform to Support Emerging Fashion Designers.\u201c Dr. Amal Abdulrahman Al-Nuwaiser presented research on \u201dGraduates' Tendency Towards Small Projects in the Field of Clothing and its Relationship to Some Social and Economic Family Variables.\" At the end of the session, questions from the attendees were answered.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>The first day's sessions concluded with the third session, chaired by Dr. Hanan Abdul Halim Bukhari, a professor at the College of Designs and Arts at King Abdulaziz University and a consultant in giftedness management, recruitment, and support. The session was titled \u201cClothing Design and Production Technology.\u201d Professor Khuloud Hassan Ali and Dr. Huda Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Hadi, along with Dr. Sharif Hassan Abdel Salam, participated with a research paper on \u201cThe Interactive Role of Smart Textiles and Their Most Important Applications.\u201d Professor Abrar Ibrahim Ahmed Al Na'mi and Dr. Sawsan Abdul Latif Rizk Nada participated with a study titled \u201cTechnology for Manufacturing Multifunctional Women's Clothing to Reduce Product Cost.\u201d Additionally, Dr. Yasser Mohamed Eid Hassan and Dr. Sherine Salah El Din Salem presented research titled \u201cInnovative Designs for Infant Clothing Using Chromatic Textiles.\u201d Finally, Dr. Mohamed El Badri Abdel Karim presented a study titled \u201cTreated Materials for the Surface of Knitting Machine Needles and Their Impact on Performance Efficiency.\u201d At the end of the session, the key points discussed were debated with the attendees, and the participating speakers answered their questions.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>The conference continued into its second day with three more sessions. The first session was chaired by Dr. Asma Abdulrahman Al-Nuwaisser, Assistant Professor in the Fashion Design Department at the College of Design, under the title \u201cFashion Design and Sustainable Development.\u201d Dr. Huda Mahmoud Omar Abdo participated with a research paper titled \u201cAesthetic and Pragmatic Values of Decorative Embellishment in Ready-to-Wear Clothing.\u201d Dr. Wafaa El-Sayed El-Sabbagh presented research titled \u201cCreating Sustainable Ready-to-Wear Designs for Women with Zero Waste Through Combination and Crochet.\u201d Meanwhile, Ms. Amani Sand Safar Al-Qurashi, Dr. Lamia Ibrahim Ahmed, and Dr. Suad Shakir Ali presented a study on \u201cThe Use of Safflower Dye to Produce Eco-Friendly Natural Silk Fabrics (An Applied Study on the Skin of Laboratory Rats).\u201d The final participants in the session were Ms. Tawqa Moufrij Al-Juhani and Dr. Hanan Abdulhalim Bukhari, with a presentation titled \"Sustainability and Design Identity in the Saudi Woman's Abaya.\" At the end of the session, discussion was opened with the attendees to address their inquiries and questions regarding the session's topic.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>The second session was presided over by Dr. Huda Mohammed Al-Ghafais, Dean of the College of Science and Arts in Al-Aysiyah at the University, and was titled \u201cCreative Visions for Fashion Arts.\u201d Dr. Faten Ali Hussein participated with a study titled \u201cDialogue as Creative and Communicative Visions in the Fashion Designs of Designer Ferial Al-Kildar.\u201c Professor Amjad Jamil Abdullah presented her research titled \u201dSynthesis in African Art in the Style of Pop Art in Contemporary Fashion Design.\u201c Dr. Rabia Salem Mohammed presented her research paper \u201dWeaving Three-Dimensional Garments on a Circular Knitting Machine (Mannequin).\u201c Dr. Iftikar Hamed Ahmed Manshi reviewed her research paper titled \u201dIntroducing Peoples' Costumes Through a Two-Dimensional Doll.\" Professor Nabila Abdullah Al-Faraj and Dr. Sahar Ali Zaghloul presented their work titled \"Creating Women's Fashion Designs Inspired by Surrealist Art Using the Formative and Aesthetic Capabilities of Fabric Scraps.\" Following this, the floor was opened for discussion.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>The second day's sessions and the conference concluded with the third and final session, titled \u201cFashion Design and People with Special Needs,\u201d chaired by Dr. Mashael Saleh Al-Salama, Dean of the College of Nursing at the university. Professor Razan Mohammed Bamohaisen and Dr. Khadija Rozy Qari Qashqari participated with a research paper titled \u201cProposed Fashion Designs for Parkinson's Patients.\u201d Meanwhile, researchers Dr. Sa'ita Mohammed Ayed Al-Mutairi, Professor Noura Al-Abdulaziz, Professor Alhanouf Al-Batti, Professor Wala\u201c Al-Mutairi, and Professor Raghad Al-Madani presented a research paper titled \u201dFashion Design with Aesthetic and Functional Specifications Suitable for Rapid Body Changes in Individuals with Thyroid Disorders.\" Dr. Naglaa Mohammed Abdelkhaleq Ta'eyma, Dr. Fairouz Abu El-Fotouh El-Gammal, and Professor Suha Adel Awad Al-Mayah presented a research paper on improving the functional properties of 3D fabrics in sportswear for the physically disabled. At the end of the session, the floor was opened for discussion, allowing attendees to ask questions and receive answers from the researchers.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>In addition to the scientific sessions, the conference activities were accompanied by two workshops that addressed some of the conference's themes. The first workshop was titled \u201cNanotechnology, Smart Textiles, and Their Applications,\u201d presented by Dr. Iman Abdulrahman Al Munir Al-Aseeri. The second workshop, accompanying the conference, was titled \u201cFashion Design and Saudi Heritage,\u201d presented by Dr. Rania Farouk Jameel Khoqair.
