The silver medal was awarded for the invention \"A System and Method for Desalinating Water Using a Saline Plant,\" presented by a research team from the university's College of Agriculture and Food, led by Dr. Abdulaziz bin Bani Al-Harbi, with the participation of Dr. Mekdad Rabhi and Dr. Ahmed Al-Zuhairi.

This invention can produce fresh water in commercial quantities through a closed biological system capable of converting highly saline water into distilled fresh water. The system operates naturally and for a long period of time without any intervention, which helps solve the water desalination dilemma sustainably and using solar energy without the need for other energies. This innovation opens a new window in scientific research for a method of desalinating highly saline water using an environmentally friendly and economically inexpensive mechanism.<\/p>

He won the bronze medal for the invention \"A Method for Preparing Excipients from Date Waste,\" presented by a research team led by Dr. Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Mindraj, with the participation of Dr. Thamer Ibrahim Rajab and Dr. Wael Abdulhafeez Shandi. This invention aids in the optimal utilization of date waste after extracting active ingredients, to produce nano-sized excipients for pharmaceutical tablets, representing a new technology in this pharmaceutical field.<\/p>

It is noteworthy that the university is participating in the Geneva International Inventions Exhibition through a pavilion that highlights its innovation ecosystem, featuring a number of the university's inventions and innovations.
