His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Qassim Region, sponsored the closing ceremony and honored the winners of the \"Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Competition for Memorization of the Holy Quran,\" in its second edition, organized by Qassim University, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Shariq, and His Excellency deputies and university staff. The prizes are valued at approximately half a million riyals, and more than 1000 male and female students participated.
<\/p>
His Highness the Emir of Al-Qassim Province extended his thanks to Qassim University and all those who organized this distinguished Quranic competition. He expressed his pride in its outcomes since its launch in the first and second rounds. His Highness said: \"It is an honor for me to sponsor events related to memorizing the Holy Quran, and I consider them among the most precious and beloved occasions to my heart due to the great status of the Quran in the curriculum of this country and in our daily lives.\".<\/p>
<\/p>
His Highness added that holding such competitions in universities or through associations, and all activities that encourage male and female students to memorize the Quran, is a great message that our wise leadership emphasizes and supports its outcomes, by the grace of God.<\/p>
His Highness the Prince of the region praised the university's efforts in organizing this competition during his patronage of the ceremony and honoring the winning students, expressing his pride in the high spirit of competition among the participants and their interest in the Holy Quran. He emphasized that the Book of God has been the methodology of our blessed country since its establishment to our prosperous era, noting the efforts of the state - may God support it - in caring for, memorizing, reciting, and printing the Holy Quran.<\/p>

The competition was held in three approved branches for memorizing the Quran; the first branch was memorizing the entire Quran, the second branch was memorizing twenty parts, and the third branch was memorizing ten parts. The preliminary rounds of the competition began during the blessed month of Ramadan to select participants, and 143 male and female participants qualified for the final rounds.<\/p>

For his part, His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, said in his speech during the ceremony:<\/p>
In this blessed land, praise be to God, we are experiencing a civilizational renaissance that does not neglect the building of a human being and the quality of his life. Among these is the great encouragement we see to pay attention to the words of Almighty God, through which the soul comes alive, religion is straightened, and life is stabilized. This university Quranic competition is but evidence of the attention paid to this matter and the promotion of its presence in a land where the Quran was revealed on its pure soil.<\/p>

\"Al-Shargi\" congratulated the winners and participants of the competition, saying: You have strived to memorize the Book of Allah and dedicated time to recitation and memorization. So, praise Allah for that, for you are engaging in the goodness of teaching and learning. It is a great blessing to be among the people of the Quran, who are the people of Allah and His chosen ones. I also advise you to fear Allah, act upon what is in His Book, increase your reading and contemplation of it, and continue doing so. I ask Allah for your success and guidance, and that you may be bricks of goodness and blessings in this great nation.<\/p>

His Highness the Prince of the region inaugurated the exhibition \u00abThis is the Holy Quran,\u00bb organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the university. The exhibition featured 54 sections discussing the stages of Quranic revelation, the Companions\" care for the Holy Quran, the Kingdom's efforts in serving the Holy Quran, scientific output in the Quran and its sciences, scientific theses at the university, and student achievements (scientific research). It also showcased a number of old manuscripts and scientific books, and included participation from the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, demonstrating the methods of printing and verifying the Holy Quran and translating its exegeses into several languages.<\/p>
<\/p>
During the ceremony, His Highness honored the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an for its participation in the exhibition, as well as the scientific committee of the competition and the jury. Afterward, His Highness presented the awards to the winning students.<\/p><\/p>
