The University, represented by the General Administration of Community Partnership, will participate in the second forum for community participation 2023 "Takatif", which will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, on Sunday, November 5, 2023, organized by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, at King Khalid Civilization Center in Buraydah.
Dr. Ashwaq bint Saleh Al-Sharida, Dean of the College of Medical Rehabilitation, and Dr. Haifa bint Mohammed Al-Rubaian, faculty member at the College of Education, presented a session entitled: "The Role of Qassim University in Empowering Women to Participate in Community Service and Community Initiatives." The paper discussed the university's role in community service (an awareness, health and education campaign in Qubbah as a model). The session also addressed the awareness, educational and health campaigns and convoys organized by the university with the aim of raising the awareness and culture of the people of the entire region and taking care of their health, in the interest of the nation and contributing to the comprehensive renaissance and progress in all economic and social fields, achieving security and stability and in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The session also addressed the topic of women's empowerment at Qassim University, which was represented by nine clear indicators: Increasing the expansion of leadership positions for women to participate in managing the educational system at the university, increasing the participation of academic leaders in decision-making, strategic plans and university councils, allocating packages of qualitative training programs targeting university employees, including programs to qualify women leaders, expanding the introduction of new majors for female students in the fields of humanities, health and medical sciences, expanding graduate studies programs for female students by introducing new programs, and increasing the percentage of female scholarships from university employees to complete postgraduate studies.
It is worth mentioning that the forum is held in its second edition under the slogan "Takatuf", which aims to highlight the establishment of urban parks, their importance for residential areas, their most prominent features, the mechanism of their implementation and management, and the role of community participation in activating their various programs and activities. The forum is accompanied by many seminars and programs that include discussion and dialogue sessions, in addition to the accompanying exhibition that reviews the most prominent local experiences and expertise, and allows joining workshops offered by specialists on various topics.
